Why I Created Kids Health Hub
As a mother of three children, I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to find the right support for your child.
Like many parents, I found myself spending countless hours searching online, making phone calls, sending emails, and following up on referrals when my daughter needed therapy services. Every lead seemed to end the same way: "We're currently not taking new clients," or "Our waitlist is 12 months long."
What should have been a straightforward process became a stressful and exhausting journey.
I remember thinking, "There has to be an easier way."
As both a parent and a health professional, I could see the same problem from two perspectives. Parents were spending hours trying to find suitable services, while health professionals were fielding endless enquiries despite often having no capacity to take on new clients.
That's where the idea for Kids Health Hub was born.
Making It Easier for Families
Kids Health Hub was created to simplify the process of finding child health, developmental and therapy services.
Rather than parents needing to contact multiple providers individually, the platform brings a wide range of professionals together in one place. Families can search for services based on their child's needs, location, and the type of support they are seeking.
Most importantly, we introduced the Green Dot Availability Indicator.
This simple feature allows professionals to display when they have immediate availability for new clients. Parents can quickly identify providers who are actively accepting referrals, saving valuable time and reducing the frustration of contacting service after service only to discover long waitlists.
Supporting Both Families and Professionals
Kids Health Hub isn't just designed to support parents-it also helps health professionals connect with the families who need their services.
By providing accurate information about availability, services offered, and areas of expertise, we aim to create a more efficient connection between families and providers.
Our goal is simple: less time spent searching, less administrative burden, and quicker access to support for children.
More Than Just a Directory
My goal is to grow Kids Health Hub is growing into a community resource for families, therapists, educators and health professionals. We want parents to feel empowered with information and confident that they can find the right support for their child without navigating a maze of websites, social media groups, and unanswered enquiries.
No parent should have to spend weeks or months trying to figure out where to start.
If Kids Health Hub can help just one family access support sooner, then it has achieved exactly what it was created to do.
Because when a child needs support, families deserve a clearer pathway to finding it.
